What we're all about

A story born from a search for freedom, and the desire to go camping as much as possible.

RISE CORE VALUES

we make freedom easier to choose.

Our mission is to connect people with the power of nature.

We design premium outdoor gear so you can spend more time outside — out of your head, out of your home, and into the places that make you feel alive.

We’re building a world where adventure feels possible for a night, a week, or five years on the road. Real freedom comes from time spent together.

We focus on the gear so you can focus on the experience.

FREEDOM

Life is short, don’t let it slip past. Say yes while you can. Take the risk. Get outside.

TOGETHERNESS

Make room for laughter, waking up early and staying up late together.

RESPECT

For time we have left, for people beside us, and for the places we’re fortunate enough to be in.

INTEGRITY

Always do the right thing, quality first, no shortcuts. Build gear people rely on.

RISE Founder

Todd Lawson

Todd Lawson is a lifelong camper. After thousands of nights spent in tents around the world, he developed a clear sense of what works — and what doesn’t.

“I fell in love with camping as a kid, and I’ve been lucky enough to camp all over the world. The only part I never loved was how much time slipped away setting up and packing down — especially on multi-day trips where you’re doing it every day.”

What started as curiosity became a five-year pursuit of testing, failing, and refining a unified tent-and-mattress system. That journey shaped RISE into a company focused on helping people get outside more often — and make better use of the time they have there.

Todd later co-founded the Rise & Sean Foundation with his partner Christina, in honour of his brother Sean — a curious explorer whose humour and love of the outdoors continue to live on through RISE, the Foundation’s work, and the hope that more kids will experience the world together.

Todd is also the author of Inside the Belly of an Elephant: A Motorcycle Adventure of Loss, Legacy and Ultimate Freedom.

Rise and Sean Foundation

RISE is a promise that adventure shouldn’t be reserved for the lucky few.
The Rise & Sean Foundation was created in 2008 to honour the adventurous spirit of Sean Lawson and to extend the benefits of travel and outdoor experience to young people who might otherwise never access them.

The Foundation funds and facilitates educational outdoor field trips for students in developing nations, working closely with schools, teachers, and local communities. These trips blend real-world learning, cultural exposure, and shared experience in a way classrooms alone can’t replicate. Our aim to HELP KIDS SEE THE WORLD, strengthen their sense of possibility, and experience the deep connection that comes from travelling and learning together.

Every RISE purchase contributes directly to future Foundation field trips.

volunteer With Us

RISE is all about showing up for each other. One of our hopes for the future is to see members of the RISE community join foundation trips as volunteers, helping support students, educators and local teams on the ground.

If you believe in the power of shared experiences, education through exploration, and giving young people a wider view of what’s possible, we’d love to hear from you.
